| Prusac - a multimedial virtual heritage site |
Prusac is a village in central Bosnia between Gornji Vakuf and Bugojno. It is one of the oldest cities in the valley and a famous meeting place of Bosnian intellectuals during the Ottoman ruling. There are two stories related to this place: the story about Ajvaz-dedo and the rock and the story about Hasan Kjafija Prušćak.![]() Ajvaz-dedo was praying for rain for 40 days under a rock, and the last day the rock split into two parts and a river started to flow. Until nowadays the Muslim pilgrims gather there in June every year to remember this event with a collective prayer. Prusac has special importance in the history of Bosnia since the Islamic philosopher, Hasan Kjafija Prušćak, (1544 - 1616) came from the village and returned there in the latter part of his life. Through Hasan Kjafija Prušćak the village blossomed and became an important cultural and religious centre in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. Hasan Kjafija Prušćak was the most important Muslim Bosnian intellectual of his time. He was a prolific scholar, writing works on philosophy, Islamic dogma, history and politics. He has been called "the most outstanding personality of Islamic academia in the intellectual life of Bosnia at the end of the 16th and beginning of 17th century". The project would include the virtual reconstruction of the site (medieval fortress, mosques, memorials (turbe) of Ajvaz-dedo and Hasan Kjafija Prušćak, the rock) and the multimedia web presentation of the models and digital stories.
